What a change a 90* Twist makes...

April Use It All Challenge at MyMemories

It’s time for the April Use It All Challenge at MyMemories!

Earlier this month, I shared a sample layout using the April Sisterhood Use It All mini — featuring a set of photos of myself and my sister. Today, I’m back with a second layout using that same mini to show just how easy it is to create a completely different look while still using every piece.

For this layout, I made a few simple changes that really shifted the overall feel:

• I rotated the striped paper 90°, which completely changed how that pattern reads on the page.
• I resized one of the papers to 2200 x 2200 and used it as a background piece, giving it a softer, more subtle presence.
• I used the eyedropper tool to pull a color from the confetti PNG and applied it to the mat behind the photo and the paper strip across it.

That small color adjustment adds just a bit of brightness and ties everything together, all while still using every paper included in the mini.

This is exactly what makes the Use It All Challenge so fun — you’re working with the same pieces, but small changes in rotation, scale, and color can give you a completely new result.

Templates are useful!

Ever wondered how truly useful a template can be?

The April 2026 Template Bundle includes the Left Handed Two template set, and these five layouts are a great example of just how versatile one template can be. Here you can see five Creative Team members using five different kits and creating five completely different pages from the same basic design.

One template has 8 different ways to use it just by rotating or flipping it:

• Original layout

And that does not even begin to count changing the kit, swapping papers, removing elements, adding extra accents, or adjusting the design to better fit your photos and story.

Template Inspiration from ScrapChat Designs Creative Team

Same Template, Same Kit, So Many Different Looks

One of my favorite things about templates is seeing just how different they can look from one layout to the next. Even when everyone starts with the same template and the same collection, the finished pages can end up with their own personality depending on the photos, papers, rotation, and little creative choices along the way.

These layouts were all created by the ScrapChat Designs Creative Team using the same template from the Bloom and Gather collection — and they all turned out beautifully different.

That’s what makes templates so reusable. You can use them again and again with different kits, rotate them 90 degrees, shift the photo arrangement, or simply let a new set of photos change the whole feel of the page. A floral page, a family page, a garden page, a school page — the same basic design can handle all of them in completely different ways.

If you’ve ever felt like using a template more than once would make your pages look too similar, this is a great reminder that it really doesn’t. The structure gives you a starting point, but your paper choices, embellishments, titles, and photos are what make the layout your own.

I love how these examples show the flexibility of both the template and the collection. From soft florals and garden photos to family memories and quieter everyday moments, each page tells its own story while still beginning with the same design foundation.
